Dear parents of our blessed fourth-graders!
Hope all is well with you.
Another week has passed by under God's grace and I would like to share some updates with you.
First of all, thank you for your support throughout the week. We just had our ZOOM session and everyone was excited to show their awesome dictionaries to their peers. For the students who have not completed their dictionaries yet, no need to worry for they can have their weekend to finish :) but please advise them to upload their work by next Monday.
1. Extension of Distance Learning.
For students' safety and well-being of our community, our school has decided with the advice from the government to extend our distance learning until 4/26. As of now, we are expecting Monday, 4/27 to be our return date but further notice will be given from the school once the date comes closer.
2. Individual/Pair Meeting
It has already been a month since we started our distance learning and we are expecting to have another three more weeks. I absolutely understand the limitations and possible obstacles that my students may face on their way. To support my students and to provide more personalized guidance, I am going to hold one more ZOOM meeting with the students. In total, students are going to have three ZOOM meetings in a week (homeroom). It would be either pair or individual but their schedule can be found in a separate post.
This meeting is provided for the students to ask questions they have and to get more 1:1 support from their homeroom teacher :)
3. Textbooks
Starting from next week, most of the lesson would be textbooks-based. I will be assigning some textbook reading homework along with follow-up activities. Therefore, I recommend my students to pick up their textbooks if they have not done so. However, it is only if they find it more convenient to work with their texts. For any reason, if you can't pick up the textbooks, please do not worry for I will be uploading the textbook pages as well on google classroom/ class website.
It is only recommended because some students find it better to study with their textbooks :)
4. Google Classroom Homework Upload
I truly appreciate all your hard work and support to upload your child's work on google classroom and also am aware of its complexity and the amount of work required to the parents. However, I would like to kindly ask you to keep supporting them to upload for it is the major medium I use to check my students' understanding and where they are at in their learning. Especially in this limited situation where on-going assessment is not possible, it would be very appreciated if I can communicate with my students with their works.
