20202029 Announcement on Coronavirus

Hello, parents of our wonderful fourth-graders!

Hope all of you are staying safe.

I am posting this announcement to share some updates with you.

Our school has sent a newsletter about our school closure next week.

As we can hear from the news, the number of confirmed cases is ever-growing and we even have some cases near our school.

To ensure students' safety and minimize the possible hazard from coronavirus, our school has decided to extend distance education for another week.

I have sent out a list of homework for this week on Monday and I am wondering how your child is doing and if there is any concern or area you want my help with.

I will be sharing a new homework list every Monday and will start checking their reading gate homework this weekend. Please remind your child that even though all homework is due on their returning date, they are encouraged to complete them on a daily basis.

Our school newsletter has mentioned about "Zoom" and online learning platforms. It is like a group skype where students and teachers discuss and learn online using facetime. However, for its technical complexity and heavy usage of the internet/computer, I would be using a different learning/teaching method. Please be reminded to check not only email but also our class website for more information and online lessons.

Starting from next week, I will be uploading more online lessons along with video lessons and corresponding homework.
